EMS Services

The Orleans Fire and Rescue Department proudly serves a year-round population of approximately 6,000 residents, which grows to over 20,000 during the busy summer months.  We operate three fully equipped Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, licensed and insured to the highest standard of care through the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS).  Our ambulances are staffed by EMTs and Paramedics trained to both state and national standards.

To maintain their certifications and stay current with best practices:

  • Paramedics complete 60 hours of continuing education every two years and maintain active certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • EMTs complete 40 hours of continuing education every two years and maintain active certification in BLS.

All personnel also participate in regular in-house training to maintain and sharpen their clinical skills.

We are committed to delivering exceptional emergency medical care with compassion, professionalism, and strong dedication to our community.

If you were a patient transported by the Orleans Fire and Rescue Department and have questions regarding your transport or bill, please contact the Fire Department or our ambulance billing agency for assistance.
