Nauset Beach South
Most important to note: There are many variables to this forecast and at any time if an unfledged brood adjusts its foraging range, the beach could close immediately. This is a real possibility.
Based on present nest locations and their hatch dates, we have scheduled to close Nauset Beach South due to unfledged piping plovers at 11 PM on Sunday June 1. If this scenario plays out, all vehicles will be expected to be off the beach and through the main gate by 11 PM on Sunday June 1. Let’s hope that the plovers cooperate and we are able to remain open through June 1. Please continue to check for updates.
Nauset North (Residents)
Nauset North remains closed due to the lack of drivable beach. The good news is that the North held up fairly well through that last Nor'Easter. We remain hopeful that as the summer beach builds and the high tides back off, that some level of access will be on the table for this summer. Once again, we understand how important the Northside is the Town. We monitor it every day and will do everything we can to find a solution.
