Storm Recovery Updates

Storm Recovery Update – Friday, February 27 | Morning
Orleans continues to make strong progress in recovery following last week’s storm.
Eversource reports that approximately 3% of Orleans remains without power. Crews have made significant progress restoring service and will continue working to complete remaining restoration.
As restoration concludes, crews will shift focus to vegetation management and debris clearing to address damaged trees and protect electrical infrastructure moving forward.

Town Facilities:
Town Hall is closed today for regular business but remains open as a Warming Center.
All other Town offices and facilities will reopen Monday, March 2.
Snow Library will reopen Saturday, February 28, from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Transfer Station:
The Transfer Station is open regular hours.
The Town will continue to temporarily waive residential brush disposal fees for residents with valid transfer station stickers through Tuesday, March 10. This applies to residential brush only. Commercial loads are not eligible.
Debris Removal:
DPW crews continue working street by street to clear storm debris. Outside contractors will also assist with debris removal to accelerate recovery efforts.
Please continue to give crews space and use caution around equipment and work areas.
Storm Damage Survey – Residents & Businesses: Residents and business owners impacted by the storm are encouraged to complete the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency’s damage assessment survey. This information helps determine eligibility for potential federal disaster assistance.
