Cedar Pond Water Quality Management Plan, July 2013 (PDF)
Cedar Pond is a 15 acre surface water body with a 48.4 hectare watershed located within the Town of Orleans. The pond receives freshwater primarily through groundwater inflows around its margin, but is also connected to the Rock Harbor estuary through a surface water outlet.

The Coastal Systems Program within the School for Marine Science and Technology -UMASS Dartmouth, was contacted by the Town in June of 2009 with a request to deploy continuously recording instruments within Cedar Pond for 1 month during the summer of 2009.

Their natural habitats also provide important ecological and commercial services for cranberry bogs, herring runs, and nitrogen attenuation that protects downgradient estuaries
