The Town of Orleans has 63 ponds covering a total area of 220 acres (Eichner and others, 2003). These ponds and lakes are scattered throughout the town, in a variety of land-use settings from relatively undeveloped areas to highly developed areas, including downtown. They are located in the major estuary watersheds and the Town Watershed.
